Marshall County approves RAGBRAI staging site and grants paid administrative leave for July 22
Summary
County approved a temporary use agreement for 102 South Center Street to host the Incident Command Trailer during RAGBRAI (July 22–23) and granted one additional paid administrative leave day to employees required to work on July 22.
The Marshall County Board of Supervisors on July 15 authorized the use of 102 South Center Street (First Interstate Bank property) as the County's Incident Command Trailer and Emergency Operations Center during RAGBRAI on July 22–23. Sheriff Joel Phillips said the site will be staffed by personnel from the Sheriff's Office, Emergency Management, the Communications Center, fire departments and EMS to coordinate weather monitoring, communications, campground operations and emergency response.
To address equity between staff required to work and those whose offices will be closed for the event, the board also approved granting one additional paid administrative leave day to employees required to work on July 22; employees unable to work because of courthouse closure will be placed on paid administrative leave for that day. The motions approving the temporary use agreement and the administrative leave option passed 3-0.
