Marshall County appoints Ian Buchwald as Assistant County Attorney

The Marshall County Board of Supervisors on July 15 adopted Resolution No. 2026-0025 appointing Ian Buchwald to the position of Assistant County Attorney effective August 3, 2026. Assistant County Attorney Kiyoko Kieffer presented the appointment and said the position will be responsible for handling the domestic violence misdemeanor docket.
Kieffer told the board Buchwald is a practicing attorney who resides in Marshalltown and described him as a valuable addition to the County Attorney's staff. The resolution passed on a 3-0 vote. No salary detail beyond the previously listed Assistant County Attorney pay (new hire listed at $90,000 annual in the consent agenda) was amended at the meeting.
