Sanitarian reports fall water-testing plans; WIC moves toward hybrid services

The sanitarian reported workloads and said the DATCP annual survey is due at the end of September 2024. Staff are partnering with Land and Water in Vernon and Crawford counties to offer fall water testing for qualified individuals, with the first event scheduled for Nov. 4. The sanitarian also said the department is coordinating with zoning on floodplain issues related to camping and evacuation.
WIC staff reported ongoing preparations for a shift to hybrid services (noted in the minutes as an Aug. 10 change), that Lydia Jones has been contracted as the WIC peer counselor and has begun training, and that provider outreach is under way to Head Start, Scenic Bluffs and Gundersen Clinic Viroqua. Farmer's market checks were wrapping up and an annual market inspection is planned for the fall.
