The Vernon County Board of Health convened Aug. 14, 2024, in the Sheriff’s Department Training Room and by Teams. Chair David Eggen called the meeting to order at 1:11 p.m., and the board approved the July 2024 meeting minutes after a motion by Martha Olson and a second from Sherrie Seidel; the vote was recorded as all ayes with Lonnie Muller abstaining.
Deputy Health Officer Emily Olson presented the July budget review and summarized department activities, including plans for an Aug. 20 month-long "Preparedness Bright Horizon Recovery Exercise" with Emergency Management, an Aug. 28 rabies clinic in collaboration with the Humane Society, and influenza and COVID vaccine planning for schools and other groups. The board set its next regular meeting for Sept. 11, 2024, at 1 p.m. in the same location.
