Committee directs creation of subaccount to fund Highway Facility equipment and technology

County Administrator Richard Heath told the committee that a subaccount should be established to set aside sales-tax proceeds for the Highway Facility project. Heath said most current equipment would not transfer to a new facility and that funds will be needed for new equipment and technology; the subaccount would also be available for other County Board–approved projects if the highway project did not proceed.
On a motion by John Matravers and seconded by Carol Heise, the committee voted to set up a subaccount for Highway Facility project expenses. The motion carried; the minutes state the subaccount will be used for paying project bills and to segregate funds for the project.
