Council adopts ADA transition plan with initial sidewalk CIP baseline

Patricia Davis, interim city engineer, and Erin Urich of Kimley‑Horn presented a draft ADA self‑evaluation and transition plan that includes 3‑, 5‑ and 7‑year implementation schedules and a stepped sidewalk CIP recommendation.
"The ask was to incorporate annual sidewalk CIP budget, which is currently 500,000 a year," Urich said while outlining the three options and prioritization approach for buildings, parks and public rights of way. Council directed staff to adopt the plan with a baseline commitment to $500,000 per year for sidewalk corridor CIP, incorporate the selected implementation schedule into the final plan, and revisit the funding level at the end of three years.
