Kalkaska commissioners set 2026 meeting calendar and committee schedule

The Kalkaska County Board of Commissioners approved its 2026 meeting calendar during the Jan. 2 organizational meeting.
Commissioner Jeff Sieting moved to adopt the schedule: Regular Board meetings will be held the third Wednesday of each month at 5:00 PM; Standing Committee (Committee of the Whole) meetings will meet the second Wednesday of each month beginning at 10:00 AM; an additional Finance Committee will be held the Tuesday before Committee Meetings at 5:00 PM. The annual meeting was scheduled for Sept. 16, 2026, and the meeting for Equalization reporting was scheduled for April 14, 2026. The board also noted an exception for the Standing Committee meeting in November, which will occur on Nov. 12, 2026 because of the Nov. 11 holiday.
The motion to approve the calendar was supported by Commissioner David Comai and passed unanimously with seven votes in favor.
