Claire Conklin, city council coordinator in communications and engagement, told the subcommittee the city had already issued a mental health awareness proclamation this year: "we actually did do a mental health awareness month proclamation on May 20 this year," she said.
Commissioners nonetheless discussed related October observances (national recovery month in September and other mental-health-related recognition opportunities) and the possibility that local NAMI leadership could help sponsor a proclamation in another month if the subcommittee chooses that option.
