Ally said the exercise — targeted for the week of Sept. 21 and required to occur within the current fiscal year — will use a situation manual (for example, multiple days over 95–100°F with incoming wildfire smoke) to test triggers and thresholds for action across emergency services, public health, senior centers and health-care facilities. She said the planning team includes Climate Smart Missoula, CSKT disaster emergency services, Missoula Public Health and a NOAA master exercise planner, and that the event will produce an after-action report to identify gaps and future steps.
