Britney Barker, City of Bend principal engineer, highlights water and stormwater projects

Britney Barker introduced herself to the group and said she serves as a principal engineer for the City of Bend, overseeing water and stormwater infrastructure. "My name is Britney Barker. I'm a principal engineer at the City of Bend. I oversee our water and our stormwater infrastructure," she said.

Barker said her work focuses on making improvements across the community through water and stormwater projects and that those projects help keep the system reliable and "off the radar" for most residents. "Luckily, we are off the radar most of the time with our projects because people turn on their faucets and they have a reliable water system, and that means we're doing a great job," she said. Barker framed routine projects as contributing to reliable service for residents rather than as headline initiatives requiring immediate action.
