Commissioners report on external meetings; Johnson contributes land-use toolkit work

During the meeting's "Board member meetings attended" segment, commissioners summarized outside engagements and coordination work.

Rick Vest reported on the NACO Board of Directors Zoom meeting and summarized discussion of scholarship distribution and the NACO land‑use toolkit. Chelsea Johnson described her work on the toolkit committee, saying they held roughly a dozen in-depth meetings to produce "a neutral, about 90‑page resource with case studies and best practices for zoning and moratoria related to livestock, cell towers, fiber, wind, battery storage, and data centers," and noted she prepared Lancaster County information for inclusion. Yoakum and Johnson reported monthly planning coordination with city staff and discussed preparations around Branched Oak and a city-jurisdiction solar project at Southwest 12th and Rokeby Road. Yoakum also reported low-barrier shelter planning and an upcoming tour of Siena Francis.

Flowerday noted community events including a ribbon cutting at 51 Commons. Yoakum said she, Vest and Johnson have coordinated with the Lincoln Chamber and a PR firm to host visiting reporters.
