Mercy EMS on track for near 10,000 calls; Pontotoc County emergency management pursues generator and AED training

Emergency Management Director Chad Letellier reported storm damage and submitted a generator quote for the Agri-Plex, noting he will pursue a Sourcewell statewide contract price. Letellier also said administration rules are needed for HB 1675 and that AED safety training is upcoming.
Mercy EMS Director Kent Schmidt reported heavy call volume this year and told the BOCC Mercy is "on track for close to 10,000 calls." He said a sixth ambulance will be added Sept. 2, 2026, to increase rotation capacity with no added cost to the county. Sheriff’s and Agri-Plex reports described recent operational impacts from a water outage and storm-related debris removal.
