The contracts and amounts are: Bear Lake, $23,405.72; Blue Lake, $8,623.16; Boardman, $17,246.32; Coldsprings, $12,318.80; Excelsior, $8,623.16; Kalkaska, $27,594.11; Rapid River, $8,623.16; and Springfield, $12,318.80—totaling $118,753.23.
Commissioner Truman Bicum asked specifically about coverage in Clearwater Township. County Administrator Patrick Whiteford provided documentation of patrol hours for each township and said the sheriff's office could not increase coverage to one township without reducing coverage elsewhere because road-patrol staffing and contractual obligations limit reallocation. The committee forwarded the contracts to the March 18 agenda for formal approval.
