The committee adopted a revised Parks & Recreation Director job description dated Jan. 27, 2026, and approved Resolution 2026-11, which lifts the hiring freeze to permit the County Administrator to advertise and fill the full‑time Parks & Recreation Director vacancy. Commissioner Jeffrey Sieting moved the resolution, which was supported by Commissioner Robert Baldwin and adopted by consensus.
Administrator Patrick Whiteford said the changes follow a review of anticipated services and a need to clarify mission and operational oversight. The committee also affirmed that the Parks & Recreation Director will retain operational responsibility for several county facilities, including the Kaliseum, Log Lake and Rugg Pond, working under the County Administrator.
