Middletown highlights recruitment outreach as vacancies persist; HR clerk posting approved

"There must have been 1000 people there," Director Richardson said of the Trinity Health Stadium expo, noting a strong turnout and new community partnerships for future recruitment. He told the committee the administration had begun to fill vacancies and expected progress in several departments in the coming weeks.
The committee approved recruitment for a full-time Human Resources clerk (40 hours/week) by unanimous vote. Other proposed recruitments had mixed results: the outreach-and-recruitment specialist motion failed and the manager-of-human-resources motion failed; the public-works director recruitment will proceed under the revised job description advanced to council. staff offered a vacancy count (roughly 451 city positions and about 170 board-of-education positions historically) and said many openings are in active recruitment.
