Wright County Treasurer presented the semiannual report and noted a new annual report element she can run in June. She said the condensed semiannual summary will run in the newspaper.
Supervisors asked about IPATE and a legislative attempt this year to limit where counties can invest funds. "It was the state trying to control where we invest the money," the treasurer said, and added that the proposal did not go through. Board members said such proposals could cut county revenue and described it as overreach; one supervisor suggested banks may have lobbied for the change.
The treasurer said county limits on investments are set by resolution. Supervisors moved to receive the semiannual report, and the motion carried.
