Lauren Gady was reelected chair of the Vernon County Board of Supervisors in a 10–9 vote, the board announced after a paper ballot tally of 19 members.
Board clerk opened nominations; Supervisor Dave Egan nominated the incumbent, Lauren Gady, and Supervisor Nathaniel Slack nominated Charlie Jacobson. In a stump speech, Gady highlighted her 14 years on the board, commitment to open government, fiscal improvements including consolidating county accounts and generating interest income, and initiatives such as farmland preservation tax credits. Jacobson emphasized his 30 years as a county employee, availability to attend outside meetings, and experience building intergovernmental relationships. After members cast ballots, Gady received 10 votes and Jacobson 9.
The election concluded the organizational portion of a meeting in which the board also selected a vice chair and filled multiple committee seats. The clerk confirmed 19 present and declared a quorum before closing nominations and conducting the vote. No formal motion to contest the tally was recorded; Gady took the chair duties for the remainder of the session.
