O'Brien County supervisors approve road closure, personnel changes and $70,982 basement contract

The O'Brien County Board of Supervisors met in regular session Aug. 5, 2025, and carried a slate of routine and project-related actions, with unanimous votes on each motion. Friedrichsen, a committee member, moved to approve the meeting agenda and Thomas, a committee member, moved to approve the July 24, 2025 minutes; both motions were carried by all ayes.
The board adopted Resolution 2025-27 to temporarily close a segment of 470th Street for culvert maintenance and approved personnel and contract actions. The board approved a wage increase for Jailer Ashlyn Gimer to $27.00 per hour (effective July 26, 2025) and appointed Colin Odenbrett to the Courthouse Jail Maintenance Department at an annual salary of $55,000 (effective July 23, 2025). The board also authorized a contract with Thrasher for repair or construction work on the Sheriff’s Office basement for $70,982.83, requiring a $14,196.57 deposit. A reconvened hearing for Drainage District No. 4 was set for Sept. 16, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. in the Courthouse Assembly Room. The meeting adjourned to Aug. 12, 2025.
