The Traill County Water Resource District discussed options for an improvement project on the Belmont‑Stavanger Drain No. 52 in Stavanger Township — either in Section 11 or, alternatively, the northeast quarter of Section 10. The board determined it would need roughly 50 feet of right-of-way from a farmstead on the parcel and considered the possibility of buying out the farmstead to secure needed access.
The minutes record that the board had previously directed Moore Engineering to approach the landowner about options. Moore Engineering has been attempting to contact Brent Rogers, a landowner along the course of the possible project, to discuss the potential for widening the drain on Mr. Rogers’ property. No agreement was recorded during the meeting and the Board continues outreach to the property owner.
