Board accepts John Riley Construction bid of $63,050 for Bridge No. 55 replacement

The Traill County Water Resource District reviewed 11 bids for the replacement of Bridge No. 55 and accepted John Riley Construction as the lowest responsible bidder at $63,050, contingent on Riverview also approving the bid as required under the Board’s Joint Powers Agreement. Manager Andy Neset moved to accept the bid; Manager Joel Halvorson seconded the motion and it carried unanimously.
Board engineer Nathan Trosen also reviewed the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nationwide 404 Permit application associated with the replacement work and Moore Engineering and the law firm Ohnstad Twichell began preparing required documents for the voting process for an associated improvement project. The board reviewed the project and analyzed benefits to benefiting parcels as part of the preliminary materials.
The award is subject to the contingency that Riverview — a joint-power partner — must also approve the bid as required by the Board’s Joint Powers Agreement.
