The Lander County Board of Commissioners voted June 12 to rezone a 14.6-acre portion of APN 002-320-14 to Tourist Commercial to permit an RV park on the southwest side of Old Highway 8A near State Route 305 in Battle Mountain.
Shelby Knott, planning coordinator, told the board the Planning Commission approved application 25-0027 on May 21 with no additional conditions and that the change is intended to clean up zoning on the subject parcel "to allow for an RV park." Commissioner Alicia moved to approve the zone change and Commissioner Lamont seconded; the motion carried on a voice vote.
The board also approved parcel map 25-24 from Battle Mountain Group LLC to create a 14.68-acre parcel for the RV park and a 106.82-acre remainder. The parcel map was presented as the implementation step for the rezoning action and was approved by motion and second. No additional public conditions were added during the hearing.
Next steps include recording the parcel map with the county recorder as required and any building or development permits necessary for the RV park. Planning staff will coordinate final recording requirements and permit timelines.
