Krebs board defers proposed permit-fee increases after presentation
Summary

Krebs Utilities Authority staff presented a package of proposed permit-fee adjustments covering new-account deposits (residential and commercial), reconnect and transfer fees, tampering fines, returned-check charges and a trash-rate increase. Jayme Busby provided the recommendations included in the board packet.
After brief discussion, boardmember Dan Heathcock asked that items 1–6 be deferred; the board deferred all six permit-fee items for later consideration. The deferral preserves current fees while allowing staff and the board additional time to review recommended changes, including a residential new-account deposit suggested to increase from $100 to $125 plus a $25 non-refundable turn-on fee and commercial deposit changes to $200 plus $25 non-refundable fee.
The board did not take final action on fee changes at the meeting; staff will return with any updated proposals.
