Board reviews draft 2026–29 priority plan, public dashboard proposed

The Brown County School Corporation on Aug. 3 reviewed a draft 2026–2029 priority plan that updates the district's 2023–26 strategic priorities and adds measurable goals and public tracking. The superintendent said the iteration grew from board work sessions and staff and parent climate surveys and is intended to show where the district succeeded and where it missed the mark.
"We spent all of last year getting feedback on that iteration of that priority plan," the superintendent said, describing new SMART goals and indicators tied to each priority. The presentation highlighted four organizing questions atop each priority — where it happens, who is engaged, how the district cares for staff, and how initiatives are sustained through fiscal stewardship — with indicators meant to be updated on a public dashboard.
The superintendent said the district plans to add a "public forward facing, data dashboard" on the Brown County Schools website so stakeholders can "click on any 1 of those indicators and get a sense of where...we are at in this goal." Board members asked to be given the detailed SMART goal text so they can review target metrics before a formal approval motion is brought forward.
No formal vote on the plan took place; the presentation was offered as a discussion item and the superintendent said official approval would follow when the board is ready.
