Freeport staff propose Sept. 9 initial budget hearing; final hearing remains Sept. 15 pending confirmation

City of Freeport staff asked the council to confirm dates for the upcoming budget hearings, proposing an initial hearing on Sept. 9 and a final hearing originally scheduled for Sept. 15.
Presenter Bruce told the meeting the Sept. 9 option would give the city time to meet print-publication deadlines before the final hearing, but he said the council would decide after reviewing the packet. "We'll wait for the at the end of the night to see how we feel," Bruce said. The presenter said the official workshop to confirm dates will be placed on the Tuesday council agenda and the group agreed to tentatively set a follow-up workshop for Aug. 17.
