The Dinwiddie County Board of Supervisors on May 19 approved a series of contracts spanning elections, information technology, emergency communications and public works.
Stephanie Wray, the General Registrar and Director of Elections, presented a contract amendment for election equipment, maintenance and supplies that the Board approved unanimously on a motion by Dr. Mark E. Moore and second by William D. Chavis. Norman Cohen, Director of Information Technology, secured Board approval for a copier contract (motion by Casey M. Dooley, second by Daniel D. Lee). Charles Lewis, Director of Emergency Communications, presented the recommendation to purchase an APCO Intellicomm GuideCard system to support 911/dispatch operations; that contract was approved on motion of Mr. Chavis, seconded by Mr. Dooley.
Public-works and fleet items approved included the purchase of a used 2022 excavator and a parking lot sealing contract presented by Timmy Cliborne, Director of General Services. All procurement items on the agenda passed with five affirmative votes.
The approvals authorize staff to execute the contracts as presented; specific dollar amounts and vendor names were included in the meeting packet but not read into the minutes.
