Dinwiddie Board honors County Administrator W. Kevin Massengill for 20 years of service

The Dinwiddie County Board of Supervisors on May 19 presented County Administrator W. Kevin Massengill with a plaque marking 20 years of service to the county.
Chair Brenda Ebron-Bonner led the recognition, saying the Board "felt it was important to celebrate his accomplishments and dedication." Supervisors praised Massengill for accessibility to residents, regional leadership and longtime stewardship of county affairs. Dr. Mark E. Moore described Massengill with three words: "integrity, leadership, and friendship."
Board members and a former supervisor credited Massengill with helping the county pursue economic development and with representing Dinwiddie positively across regional bodies. Mr. Chavis recalled early criticism he had heard about Massengill but said working together changed his view; Harrison Moody, a former board member, noted Massengill is the longest-serving County Administrator in Dinwiddie County history, hired in 2006.
The recognition occurred amid routine business; the Board presented the plaque during the meeting and then continued with scheduled agenda items.
