The Comanche County Board on April 20 approved awarding six-month Bid #34 for emulsions and road oils covering May 1 through October 31, 2026. The board accepted bids from Coastal Energy Corp., Ergon Asphalt & Emulsions, Inc., and Vance Brothers, LLC and followed written recommendations that assigned picked-up and delivered product awards to the lowest and best bidders.
Meeting minutes noted a written recommendation from Commissioner Ryan John and foremen that Ergon be awarded multiple product lines because of plant location, product reliability, and Ergon's option to accept product returns with minimal freight charges; Ergon does not charge freight to Lawton, which resulted in a lower overall delivered cost. The board voted to accept the recommendation; Powers, John and Owens voted aye.
