Board approves $32,000 reimbursable grant to buy two Lucas CPR machines for EMS

The Lander County Board of Commissioners voted to accept a United We Stand grant application and approve a fully reimbursable $32,000 award to purchase two Lucas automated CPR machines for county EMS. Michelle Young, chairperson of the Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC), said the grant would cover equipment not included in earlier grants and that the county had applied to ensure batteries and accessories would be funded.
"We were awarded the funds for the possibility of doing that if you approve it for them to have 2 new Lucas machines," Michelle Young said. Commissioner Alana disclosed an affiliation with the Lehi Board and moved to approve the grant; the motion was seconded and passed with verbal "aye" votes. The grant is fully reimbursable, and staff said previously approved grant amounts will cover missing batteries and smart pads.
Commissioners did not debate the grant extensively; the motion passed and staff will proceed with contract paperwork and procurement of the equipment.
