Hamilton County Parks Board receives project updates on murals, archery, fountain repairs and more

Director Chris Stice gave a broad report on project progress across county parks at the June 15 meeting. Highlights included a mural planned for Potter’s Bridge Park in the fall; continued work at Bray Family Homestead Park on a lean-to structure storing historic Bell Ford Bridge components; Cool Creek Pavilion facility upgrades including ADA ramps and electrical work; and an installed outdoor classroom at Cool Creek Nature Center.
Stice said Koteewi Archery construction is underway with a groundbreaking to be scheduled within 30–45 days in coordination with the Indiana Department of Natural Resources (IDNR). At Morse Park and Beach staff are finishing designs and exterior work and repairing a bridge at the softball fields. For the Coxhall Gardens Centerpiece Fountain, the Department has partnered with Ritz Charles for a temporary fountain flow at a cost of $10,000 for the year, split 50/50; Mark Safranek has paid his share in full and will invoice the Department for its portion.
