Loris police report grant renewal for School Resource Officers and cite June search-warrant arrests

Loris Police Chief Buley told council the department received approval to renew a grant that reimburses part of the cost of providing School Resource Officers at Loris High School and Loris Elementary School. The grant renewal will continue partial reimbursement of SRO costs for the coming period.
Chief Buley also summarized a June 23 search-warrant operation executed by department officers that resulted in multiple illegal narcotics and two firearms being recovered and two individuals taken into custody, including one person identified as a fugitive from Florida. Mayor Suggs thanked the police department for their work keeping the city safe.
