Following executive session, Attorney John C. Zilinsky told the council it had received advice about the employment and contractual matters pertaining to the interim administrator and treasurer positions. Council voted on a proposal for Angel R. Neighbours to continue serving in both capacities for the upcoming budget year at a salary of $122,000.
The motion was made by Councilwoman Andrea L. Coleman and seconded by Councilwoman Kelli D. Gerald. The motion passed with Mayor Suggs and a majority of council voting in favor; Councilman Carroll D. Padgett Jr. and Councilwoman Tonya F. Sykes recorded opposing votes. The minutes state the salary had been $90,000 previously.
