Council renews Waccamaw Regional COG planning contract with $5 hourly increase

Planning and Zoning Director Meredith Holmes summarized a proposed contract with the Waccamaw Regional Council of Governments to provide planning technical assistance for fiscal year 2026–2027. Attorney John C. Zilinsky said he reviewed the contract and found it to be the same as the prior year except for a $5 increase in the hourly rate. Council approved the agreement by motion.
The motion was made by Councilman Lewis C. Hardee Jr. and seconded by Councilwoman Kelli D. Gerald; the mayor and all council members voted in favor. City staff noted that the city has contracted with the Waccamaw Council for these services for several years and that the agreement continues existing technical-assistance arrangements.
