The City of Loris held a public hearing on Monday, June 29, 2026, to receive input on Ordinance 04-26, the proposed fiscal year 2026–27 budget. Mayor Michael E. Suggs read the statutory notice and presented budget totals for the General Fund ($4,696,000), the Water and Sewer Fund ($2,070,300) and the Hospitality Fund ($450,000).
"All budgets are balanced as required by South Carolina State Law," Mayor Suggs said while presenting the proposal. He opened the floor for oral comments; no members of the public offered remarks. With no further discussion the hearing was adjourned at 6:10 p.m. after a motion by Councilwoman Joan S. Gause and a second by Councilman Carroll D. Padgett Jr. Mayor Suggs and all members present voted in favor.
