The Loris City Council approved first reading of Ordinance 06-26, which would amend the official zoning map to rezone a parcel owned by Harriett D. Hardee. Clerk Melinda T. Price read the ordinance by title, and Planning and Zoning Director Meredith Holmes described the site as "along Highway 45 on the West side of the city."
A motion to approve first reading was made by Councilman Lewis C. Hardee Jr. and seconded by Councilwoman Joan S. Gause. Mayor Michael E. Suggs and five council members voted in favor; Councilwoman Andrea L. Coleman and Councilwoman Kelli D. Gerald opposed the motion, but the motion passed.
