Masheena Liebert, the district’s director of finance and operations, reviewed multiple capital motions the board will be asked to approve at its upcoming voting meeting. Liebert presented items A–M, which included three Gateway proposals for the junior–senior high site work (civil $41,500; geotechnical $14,500; surveying $16,682) and several capital pay apps and invoices for cafeteria work and other building projects.
Liebert called out an asbestos‑abatement invoice and described that as the primary item that pushed costs above earlier estimates. She said the district expects credits from the general contractor because part of the flooring removal was unnecessary after abatement, and that pay‑apps are being tracked in a spreadsheet she will share with the board. "The asbestos abatement threw us off track and off budget," she said, but added the overall project remains broadly on budget with a small number of change orders.
Specific items Liebert listed included (as presented in the study session): civil engineering proposal $41,500; geotechnical proposal $14,500; surveying proposal $16,682; an asbestos‑abatement invoice (amount cited in the proposal materials) and a number of pay applications to contractors for cafeteria work, mechanical and electrical firms, and other capital equipment. Liebert said Rob Gardner approves pay apps per contract amounts and that she will circulate a spreadsheet showing awarded amounts, pay apps received and any change orders.
Board members asked for more granular invoice detail and confirmation of vendor insurance clauses; Liebert agreed to provide the requested documentation and the board indicated the package would appear on the voting agenda for formal approval.
