Town Manager Suzanne Harvey told the Council that the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program, administered by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, is a possible funding source for local projects and requires public hearings and a project-selection process. Harvey asked Council to authorize staff to begin the application process and to schedule the required public hearings.
Council voted to begin the CDBG application process and to schedule a work session and public hearing. The minutes record that the first public hearing will be held March 21, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at the Activity Center and that buses should be made available for residents who need transportation to attend. The motion to begin the process was moved by Johann R. Wallace and seconded by Cynthia Butterworth.
