Mayor Johann Wallace performed the first reading of Ordinance 2026-02, proposing amendments to Title 9, Chapter 9.20 to revise the circumstances under which minors may lawfully possess firearms, aligning local code with state statute A.R.S. 13-3108(G)(2)(d).
The minutes note the first reading only; no vote to adopt was taken during the Jan. 22 meeting. Town Attorney Thomas Benavidez presented the code change as necessary for alignment with state law. Further action will follow the town’s ordinance-adoption schedule if council advances the item.
