Kay County commissioners approve letter saying county will not enforce zoning for Wildwood Weddings' alcohol license

At the June 8 meeting the Board of County Commissioners approved a formal letter indicating Kay County "does not enforce any zoning, building safety, and health ordinances" and that the board had no objection to Wildwood Weddings, Inc., obtaining a license to sell alcoholic beverages at 6500 W. Dry Rd., Newkirk. Chairman Jeff Kreger moved the motion, which was seconded by Commissioner Shane Jones and approved unanimously.
The action is administrative: the board recorded a statement for the record and did not itself issue a county license. The motion as recorded in the minutes reads in full: "Motion was made by Kreger and seconded by Jones to approve a letter from BOCC stating Kay County does not enforce any zoning, building safety, and health ordinances, and has no objection to the business establishment obtaining a license to sell alcoholic beverages at the Wildwood Weddings, Inc., 6500 W. Dry Rd., Newkirk, OK 74647." The County Clerk will file the approved letter.
