Residents press for park improvements and goat‑head removal in Huachuca City

Resident Steven Sherwood described on‑the‑ground fixes such as cement pads under picnic tables and suggested donations from local hardware stores to help with seed or plantings.
Other speakers requested shade at the pool and artificial turf in high‑use areas to reduce goat‑head exposure; staff said maintenance requests could be considered but that larger capital work should be scoped as a candidate project for grant funding. SEAGO noted routine maintenance is generally not an eligible use of CDBG implementation funds and that slum/blight projects require area‑wide documentation and definitions.
