The McKinney City Council approved a guaranteed maximum price (GMP) contract with Crossland Construction for Phase 6 of the McKinney Public Safety Renovation.
Patricia Jackson, the city's facilities construction manager, told council the $5,500,000 GMP covers the first step of phase 6, focused on the southern portion of the first floor formerly occupied by fire and now being renovated to expand Police Department space. Jackson said this is the first step in a multi-step phase and that additional steps will come later in the program.
Council approved the staff recommendation on a motion and second after brief discussion. Jackson thanked the council following the vote; the contract moves the project into the construction phase under the guaranteed maximum price terms.
