Marc White presented the city's 2026 employee health insurance options and noted the current Wellmark BCBS Bronze and Silver plans would increase by roughly 7% for 2026, while UnitedHealthcare plans were substantially higher. Trepp moved to keep the insurance options and HSA payments the same for 2026; Johnson seconded and the motion passed 5 ayes.
The council voted to maintain the status quo for benefits and the clerk will implement the 2026 plan selections consistent with that decision. The minutes record: "The current Bronze & Silver plans with Wellmark BCBS have an increase of 7%. The only other option is United Healthcare and those plans are quite a bit higher. Trepp moved to keep the insurance options and HSA payments the same for 2026, seconded by Johnson. 5 ayes. Motion carried."
