The Hanover County Community Services Board’s Community Engagement Committee began planning for the 2026 Jean C. Harris Awards, setting a tentative event date of October 28, 2026, at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Hanover. Mary Butler Eggleston will confirm venue availability and the nomination form will be posted on the county website once the date is finalized.
Dr. Gabriella Caldwell-Miller said staff will coordinate with the County Communications office to announce the nomination on The Vine and county social channels and will work with IT to ensure the nomination materials meet accessibility requirements. At the August Board meeting, Eggleston will recruit board members to help review nominations; invitations and the award announcement will be distributed electronically and by mail approximately three weeks before the event.
