Board extends Aug. closing deadlines for two county property sales

The Board of Supervisors voted to extend the closing deadline for the 1804 Douglas Avenue sale and for a Dallas/Douglas Avenue three-lot sale to Aug. 20 to allow time for new abstracts and title opinions to be completed. County staff explained the delay resulted from title work being reviewed by attorneys and requested the extension to avoid missing scheduled closings.
Chair read the proposed new closing date into the record: "looking at a closing date of August 20 for both of those properties." Supervisors moved, seconded and approved the extensions by voice vote. County staff noted the extensions do not require a separate resolution but the board preferred to record a motion and vote to document the change.
