Brian Carter, Deputy County Administrator and CFO, told the Industrial Development Authority that the Board of Supervisors plans to adopt the county budget for FY 2026-27 at its regular May meeting but that appropriations likely will be decided at the June meeting because the state budget remains undetermined.
Carter said the Board of Supervisors has made capital funding a priority and noted county concerns about public-school spending. When Chair Morris Ledbetter asked whether proposed fire apparatus funding would be an annual allocation, Carter confirmed that it would be annual funding.
