Ricco Road hamlet rezoning likely deferred pending traffic study

Staff told council the application to rezone roughly 273.89 acres at the corner of Vernon Grove Road and Ricco Road from RL to HMMU has not yet cleared the planning commission and is unlikely to return until the traffic study is complete. "The recommendation from staff is to defer again pending recommendation from planning commission and the traffic study," said Speaker 3 (Staff member). Planning commission members had voted to defer until the engineering traffic report and other information were provided.
Council members asked about timing for counts and report preparation; Speaker 3 said the traffic study contractor estimated about six weeks after counts to prepare the report but staff did not know whether counts had begun. Council agreed not to re-advertise the public hearing until the city had the traffic study in hand.
