The Josephine Planning and Zoning Commission on Aug. 3 withdrew an advertised zoning item after staff determined the parcel lay outside the city limits and therefore was not subject to the city's zoning ordinance.
Miguel, the city planner, told commissioners that after discussing the property's boundaries with the developer and reviewing maps, “the city determined that it is not inside the city limits and not subject to zoning,” and that the item, though advertised for public hearing, did not require action. The commission accepted the staff recommendation and moved on to subsequent agenda items.
The withdrawal means the proposed zoning change for that parcel will not be advanced by the commission; if the owner wants city zoning, the property must first be annexed into Josephine and then presented for an initial zoning designation. No vote or follow-up action on item 4.1 was recorded in the hearing.
