Council waives late fees, extends business-license deadline after GovOS rollout delays

The council approved agenda item 25-012 to extend business-license renewal deadlines by 60 days and waive late fees, penalties and interest for this year, citing delays in implementing the GovOS online licensing system. Finance Director Dana explained the system-related delay and recommended the all-or-nothing waiver because the platform requires it.
"Late in the process, we ran into a few issues... we're also requesting that we waive any late, fees and penalties and interest for just this year," Dana said. Councilmembers described the request as fair given the technical rollout issues and adopted the extension and waiver by unanimous voice vote.
