Mr. Bobby Dark explained the economic impact on farmers and feed supplies and noted that "the County is not in a D3 drought yet that will automatically trigger federal help," but that passing a local resolution could assist in securing state or other support. Supervisor Mark Dotson moved to approve the resolution; Vice Chairman Dennis Morris seconded and the motion passed by unanimous roll call.
The resolution does not itself allocate funds; rather, it formally records the county's request for relief assistance and can be used in state or federal requests for aid. The board did not discuss specific payout amounts or immediate cash assistance at the meeting.
