Council moved immediately from a zoning debate to separate licensing amendments to Title 15 to address business licensing for brewpubs. Melissa Anderson and staff described the licensing changes as aligning city procedures with state law and simplifying administrative steps for business owners.
"These changes have a positive impact on our staff that's handling these licenses... it clarifies the process for a business owner when they do approach the city," said the councilmember who moved the ordinance. Councilmembers praised the administrative clarity; the measure passed unanimously on roll call, 7–0.
The council instructed staff to finalize administrative updates and to publish the revised licensing requirements and application process.
