The Sandy City Council approved ordinance 25-20 to annex the Jamieson Point area near Little Cottonwood Road and Wasatch Boulevard on Aug. 26.
Assistant development director Brian McKuson described the annexation as just over five acres including five properties in the Jamieson Point cul-de-sac and a few adjoining parcels; most are single-family homes and two parcels are vacant. Eight of the 10 property owners signed consent forms. The Planning Commission reviewed the application Aug. 7 and forwarded a positive recommendation to the council. A motion to adopt the ordinance passed on a council roll call vote of 6–0.
No public comment was received during the hearing. The council thanked the neighborhood for its cooperation and welcomed the new residents into the city.
